Teaching has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work as a journalist. It’s been a wonderful way to exchange knowledge with both aspiring reporters and working professionals looking to continue their education. My college-level lecturing experience includes Hunter College (adjunct professor) and the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Journalism (visiting professor), both in Manhattan. I have also given guest lectures to journalism and business students at U.C. Berkeley and two of my alma maters, New York University and Columbia University.
I draw on my experience working at the intersection of journalism and business for the past fifteen years. I regularly bring in guests from institutions like the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and PBS, in addition to government and public relations. Topics I’ve taught include interviewing techniques and entrepreneurial journalism.
